We join with the rest of the ASJA Family and national community in offering our sincere condolences on the passing of the President General of ASJA and Chairman of the ASJA Education Board, Haji Yacoob Ali.

Mr. Ali exemplified humility, courtesy and respect for others. He was a visionary, who was instrumental in the establishment of our school and was steadfast in his support throughout the years.

May Allah swt grant him jannatul firdous (the highest heaven).

Update 26-06-2021: Form 5 student Ronia Swan (UNICEF Child Rights Ambassador Trinidad and Tobago) had the amazing honour of speaking at the OAS (Organisation of American States) Virtual Meeting of the Permanent Council, Celebration of Americas Children and Youth Day on 23 June, 2021. Update 05-09-2020: Parents/ Students, we hope you were able to join our week of Online Orientation sessions. Alhamdullilah (All praise to God) we have successfully held sessions for all students (Guidance, Edmodo & Big Blue Button), and held meetings with parents in all forms. We have had management team meetings, department meetings and whole-staff meetings. We have had training sessions for Teaching and Library staff on Edmodo and Big Blue Button, as well as a whole staff session with EAP. In addition, Online Learning Timetables were distributed yesterday via our WhatApp groups with students and parents. WE ARE READY FOR ONLINE SCHOOL BEGINNING MONDAY! Please send a WhatApp message to our school number, identifying yourself and your daughter, if you are not in any of our class/parent WhatsApp groups.

 

Update 04-09-2020 It's our 20th Anniversary! Our school first opened it's doors 20 years ago today. We thank Almighty God for His numerous blessings and for the many students, parents, staff members and well-wishers who added value to our school over the years.  

 

Update 28-08-2020: Our online teaching schedule is complete but we are waiting on the written guidelines promised by the Ministry of Education before we share it- in case we need to make changes. We hope to share this by Friday 4th September, 2020. Next week from Tuesday 1st September 2020 to Friday 4th September 2020 we will be having orientation sessions for students. Our Guidance Officer Mrs. Leslie-Ann Farfan-Cooper will be conducting Covid-19 Debriefing sessions for each Form and I will be conducting sessions on using Big Blue Button and Edmodo for students. The links and times for these sessions will be sent to parents'/ students' phones by Monday 1st September. 

 

Rental Books: we are continuing contactless collection and distribution of rental books for Forms 2, 3 and 4. There are bins along the walkway to drop off old rental books. Times: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, Saturdays 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please note all health protocols in effect: masks, handwashing, temperature check and physical distancing. If anyone is experiencing flu symptoms, diarrhea and/or loss of taste and smell, shortness of breath, pressure on the chest, DO NOT VISIT; Please send a WhatsApp message to 662-3447 to make alternative arrangements.

 

Update 15-08-2020: The Honourable Prime Minister has announced the closure of all schools for the rest of the year. We will start the new term online, on 01 September 2020. An update will be posted regarding the new online schedule by Friday 28th August 2020 God willing

Update 18-03-2020: Parents please note that teachers who already had WhatsApp Groups, Edmodo and Google Classrooms have been sending work for their respective classes. Some work has also been posted to our (SIMS- same platform you use to access reports etc), please use the link on the right of this page to access the SIMS site. When you have logged on to the SIMS select "downloads" to access Exam papers and other materials. Students should attempt exam papers during their time at home. Teachers will review exam papers with classes when school reopens.

Update 16-03-2020: The Prime Minister in his Post-Cabinet briefing today has indicated that ALL SCHOOLS WILL REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL Monday 20th April 2020.

Update 13-03-2020: We have received confirmation that schools will be closed for one week beginning Monday 16th March 2020. Stay tuned to news and this website to see if this period is extended. We will have to make a decision about end of term exams when we have more information on the status of schools from the Ministry of Education.

Update 12-03-2020: The Minister of Health has confirmed the existence of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Trinidad and Tobago. You are advised to:

  • remain calm and pray for the good health of all persons in Trinidad and Tobago

  • follow the preventative measures as shared with you in correspondence dated 12 March 2020. This includes: frequent handwashing and hand sanitizing, social distancing (stay a minimum of 3 feet away from anyone with symptoms), cover any coughs and sneezes with the bend of the elbow. Please review the letter with your daughter. Note rags are banned

  • do NOT send your daughter to school if she is ill. If there is a family member who your daughter would have had contact with who is strongly suspected or confirmed of having COVID-19 also take the precaution of keeping her at home. If there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 in your home please alert the Principal/ Vice Principal.

  • Please check this website daily for updates as our school may remain closed (after following necessary protocols) IF THERE IS A CONFIRMED case within our school community. You will be OFFICIALLY notified IN WRITING if possible and/or from this website ONLY. Please be wary of FAKE NEWS.
